NoMad
A new NoMad office for a microfinance nonprofit, won against two competing bids.
Grameen America needed a large boardroom, a private Mother’s Room and a lease built for a nonprofit. Nomad won the space against two competing proposals, with the boardroom and Mother’s Room built at the landlord’s cost.
The challenge
Grameen America, the microfinance nonprofit, needed a new New York office with a large boardroom, a private Mother’s Room and a lease that worked for a 501(c)(3). Every step needed sign-off from HR, finance, legal and senior leadership, and two other groups were bidding.
What Nomad did
We sent a market overview of nine spaces and ran two rounds of tours. Within hours of the first round, we sent revised floor plans showing a boardroom in each finalist, so every approver could compare the options side by side.
The negotiation
We secured a lower rent, more free rent, and a boardroom and Mother’s Room built at the landlord’s cost. We also worked with Grameen’s General Counsel to put nonprofit-appropriate tax language into the lease.
The result
Grameen signed in November 2025, about six weeks after the LOI, and is in its new NoMad office.
