Haven needed an office that could keep pace with a growing technology company while doing more than simply house desks.
The challenge
The team wanted a productive everyday workplace for approximately 30 workstations, but the office also needed to transform into a welcoming venue for monthly events and gatherings. That meant finding the right combination of size, layout, location, flexibility and economics in a space that was already built and furnished. Haven needed one space to serve two different purposes. During the workday, it had to operate as a comfortable, efficient headquarters for the team. After hours, it needed enough flexibility and openness to bring a larger community together for events. The team also wanted to avoid a lengthy buildout and remain close to Penn Station, making the office convenient for employees as well as guests traveling in for events.
What Nomad did
Nomad centered the search around furnished, flexible spaces with layouts that could support both daily work and larger gatherings. In a building Nomad represents near Penn Station, Haven found the right fit: a 3,500 SF headquarters with an adaptable open layout, approximately 30 workstations, an open kitchen, private restrooms and enough flexibility to transition from workplace to event space. The existing buildout and furniture allowed the team to move forward without taking on a major construction project.
The result
Haven secured a headquarters that works harder than a traditional office. It gives the team a dedicated place to work every day while also creating a home for the events and community that are part of how Haven operates and grows. One office, two uses, and room for the company to keep evolving.
