Notable Office-to-Residential Conversions (Downtown Manhattan)
Lower Manhattan, especially FiDi, is a hotbed of conversion activity. Many older office towers with smaller floor plates and outdated layouts are ideal candidates for apartments. Below is a list of major office-to-residential conversions in downtown Manhattan (FiDi, Tribeca, etc.), including projects completed recently, under construction, or officially proposed. (All are on Manhattan Island, and include approved, under-way, and speculative projects.)

Notable conversions in Midtown and other Manhattan areas
The conversion trend is not limited to downtown. Midtown South and East Side corridors with older, smaller offices (e.g. the east Midtown “Third Avenue” strip of 1950s towers) are prime candidates. There is also interest in converting some uptown sites and smaller commercial buildings in various neighborhoods.
