Pinterest is doubling down on its New York City footprint. The image-sharing and discovery platform has signed an 11-year lease for the entire 13th floor of 11 Madison Avenue, an iconic Art Deco skyscraper that looms large over Madison Square Park.

The lease encompasses approximately 83,000 square feet, more than twice the size of Pinterest’s current space at 225 Park Avenue South. While financial terms were not officially disclosed, sources familiar with the deal say asking rents hover around $90 per square foot.

Pinterest’s decision to expand its real estate footprint in Manhattan comes amid a clear and sustained resurgence in New York’s tech sector. Throughout 2024 and into 2025, leading tech firms have not only returned to the office but doubled down on their presence in the city, fueling a new wave of leasing activity across Midtown South and beyond. Pinterest’s move suggests a renewed commitment to in-person collaboration, especially in a city that remains a global nexus for design, advertising, and culture.

Their new headquarters will be housed in 11 Madison Avenue, a 30-story tower. The building is owned and operated by SL Green Realty Corp., Manhattan’s largest office landlord, which has spent years upgrading and repositioning the building into one of Midtown South’s most sought-after corporate addresses.

Pinterest will join a marquee roster of tenants, including Credit Suisse, Sony Corporation of America, Beam Suntory, WME, and the Michelin-starred restaurant Eleven Madison Park, which anchors the ground floor. The building’s amenities include a private cafeteria, auditorium space, high ceilings, and sweeping terraces, all positioned steps from several major subway lines and adjacent to one of Manhattan’s most beloved green spaces.

SL Green’s repositioning of the property, along with recent leasing momentum, illustrates the strength of pre-war trophy assets in a post-pandemic market increasingly defined by quality, character, and location.

Pinterest’s move into 11 Madison Avenue can be read as both practical and symbolic. On a practical level, it allows the company to consolidate and expand its team in one of Manhattan’s most architecturally distinguished and accessible locations. But it also serves as a broader statement: that for innovative companies, a thoughtfully chosen office space remains central to brand identity, team culture, and long-term growth.

At a time when many are questioning the future of the office, Pinterest is making its position clear. It’s not just dropping a pin on the map, it’s planting one firmly in the heart of New York City!
